Introducing the ALL NEW Rae-Motorsports Intermediate Pipes for the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX. The Intermediate Pipe "I-Pipe" is the 2nd section of the downpipe "J-Pipe" of which connects to the mid-pipe/start of cat-back.

These pipes are expertly crafted by Morgan Rae, using the newest Rae shop mandrel bender, and her own skilled hands for a superior quality product. The Rae's Intermediate Pipe has a 2.5" flange that can connect to the OEM Catalytic Converter. The Rae-Motorsports Intermediate Pipes can be easily attached to your existing catalytic converter, as well as any mid pipe (cat-back) from either an OEM or aftermarket brand, except Nameless Performance.

If/when you decide to upgrade to a full JPipe it will replace this intermediate pipe. You will need the factory "center section" for this to bolt to which is the front J with the 1st factory cat.
TUNING NOTES:
Intermediate pipe doesn't "need" to be tuned for but it will absolutely help to be tuned with it. They need some WG modification down-low to keep from spiking (albeit the WG will learn it out but we hate having heavy WG learns). You can definitely benefit power wise from tuning with the intermediate pipe.
Answer: Can you toss it on and get more power naturally and let the e-WG learn the new position without any downsides? Yes Can tuning refine and pull more power out? Also, yes
Highly recommended!!!!! Fitment was on point and very easy install. The car is running the dmann F&G map and you can easily feel the power increases from this. 4500 to 6000 rpm fulls much better than before over the stock front pipe. Idle is like stock full throttle louder but not crazy even with an Invidia r400.
Easy Install. Great Fitment. Make sure to grab some Penetrant and some extra bolts just in case. The OEM parts have a tendency to be a bit of a beech.
The build quality, fitment, and one piece design of the Rae Motorsports Intermediate Pipe are as close to perfect as you can get. One word of warning. If you combine it with a Rae or other louder cat back exhaust, get ready for some serious volume! I started with the Rae system that has mufflers and a resonator. It does sound good but it’s full race car in my opinion. I ended up going with the Rae Intermediate pipe and stock mid-pipe and mufflers. It’s enough volume for me. Most of the sound comes from the front of the car now and it’s quiet out back. The cold start is also not crazy loud now and there is zero drone at any rpm. I’m good with that.

Great looking pipe fits well. Don't know how it sounds yet as it cannotbe properly installed with included components at least in some set ups mime in this case
If you wish to continue to use OEM exhaust from RAE pipe back you will need to purchase an additional adapter for a proper install. No big deal but wouldve been nice to have a heads up as I am waiting on more parts to finish the job
